Emini Futures Trading Update – 24Mar2016

The futures are currently at 2016. The S&P 500 Index is at 2025, so futures are at 9 points discount. The index has support at 2015, about 10 points below current price, failing which the index can go 1990, which is 35 points below.

So we are waiting to see if the support levels will hold, and if they do, a new long trade can be done, otherwise below 2000, short trades also have equal probability of success. The futures are not suitable for long trade currently. The positive zone for long trade is above 2030 in futures.

  • Traders with 1-2 contracts: We do not have a new trade as of now.
  • Traders with 5-10 contracts: You can sell 1-2 contracts at 2017 for Target 2005 and Stop at 2025. This is an optional trade.

S&P500 Emini Futures Trading Update- 19Jan2016

Date: Jan 19, 2016 | 09:45 am US EST, New York.
Hello Folks, good morning. A long weekend break has helped to calm down the market’s nerves, and Asian markets did well, and European markets (CAC, DAX) are in bright green with 2% gains, so the global market sentiment is recovering from extreme bearish mood. However, we can’t say whether sentiment will recover fully or get bearish again after 2-3 days. We will let the S&P500 index decide that for us. For now, the S&P500 is underperforming the other markets with weaker gains off the start. We can expect something better from current levels.

The futures are currently at 1888. The next buy signal will come above 1895, and we can aim for 10-20 points from there. Traders can aim to buy the futures above 1896 with 8-10 point stop, and target gain of 20-25 points. A clear and stronger buy signal will come at 1919 in futures. So one can go long on S&P500 Emini Futures above 1920 for targets of 1943-1947.

Afternoon Update: 1:30 pm US EST, New York.
The futures are currently at 1875. They have given up the gains from the gap up opening in the morning.
After my previous message in the morning, the futures went up till 1894.50 and fell back, while our first buying trigger would have come at 1895, and buying order was set at 1896. So it came very close to triggering our buy order, which would have resulted in hitting a stop loss. So we have saved money today with our analysis and suitable placement of orders.

The selling momentum has reduced and CBOE Put/Call Ratio is indicating that we maybe near a reversal move, which can take the S&P500 to about 1970-1980 levels before next major resistance comes. We will wait for the suitable buying triggers to come, taking one step at a time.

S&P500 Emini Futures Trading Update: 06Jan2016

  • The S&P500 Emini Futures futures made a high of 2017 after our buying at
1993 (on 4th Jan), and reversed from 2013 yesterday (5th Jan) to a low of
1971 in pre-market selling today morning, and again moved up to 1995
intraday, fell down to 1971 again, and closing at 1984. More than 100
points of distance covered in one trading day!
  • We have asked active traders to take profits on every 10-20 points gain, because market is volatile and 10-20 points profits are disappearing rapidly. So some traders had already taken 15-20 point gains by selling their long futures around 2010-2013 level over the last 2 days (from the buying at 1993 on 4th Jan).
  • In addition, this morning, we have asked active traders with 5-10 contracts to buy 2-3 contracts at 1977 with stop at 1971 (day low) for target 1991, which has already been hit at 10:23 am US EST, giving 14 points gain, and we have gained once again from taking a position against the knee jerk selling in pre-market hours.
  • The average daily high-low range for Dec 2015 month was 27 points, and
similar trend is happening in Jan 2016. With such daily range, any stop
loss less than 25 points is constantly at risk. Our approach is to keep
smaller stop losses of 5-15 points, and try to select the trade entry
    better. Thanks.

Bonus Trade: Buy Emini Futures for 40-50 points upside

Bonus Trade update 06-Jan-2016: Please note the following.
————————————–
If 1980 stop is hit, then buy back your futures when 1985 is crossed on the upside, with Stop at 1980 once again. In any case, you must have futures long above 1993 (i.e, above 2000 on S&P500 index)
—————————————

Date: 04-Jan-2015
Hello Folks, the buy signal is visible now. The futures are at 1993 currently. Here is our bonus trade of Jan 2016, for all regular visitors of our website.
Bonus Trade#1: Jan 2016
———————————
Buy at: 1993
Target: 2043
Stop: 1980
———————————
Traders can also take profit at 2013 and 2023, so that they can buy back again at lower levels, within the above trading range. The S&P500 index and futures have recovered very nicely from day lows, and are showing buying strength. The and risk-reward for a long trade is favorable at current levels, as good as it can get. Thanks.

S&P500 Emini Futures Trading Update – 03Dec2015

As of 2.55 pm US EST, the S&P500 Emini Futures have dropped to 2045. They are now 40 points below our stop loss exit at 2085. This indicates the extent of selling pressure that came in yesterday. I have been observing the futures since 3.00 am. There has been lot of volatility, and its difficult to trade with single contract. This fall today can not be traded by signals or emails. It can only be traded in real-time because it can reverse equally sharply as some indicators are already in oversold area. We will let this sudden selling play out. Continue reading →
